Lamy Safari Fountain Pen

The Lamy Safari is a great starter fountain pen. I got mine from Fortnum and Mason in London with a medium nib in Charcoal. This fountain pen is a great starter pen and it is one which you could take with you in you bag and not worry about it too much.

The Design

The charcoal safari is in the same design as all the other safaris however the clip is black as is the nib. I would describe the colour as being a matt black and as a result of the finish it does not have the same smooth plastic feel as the regular safari, instead it is more textured and feels thicker in build.

The Nib

This pen came with a removable, black, medium nib. The nib is not bad but it has some feedback when writing. The thing that I like the most the nib is that it has a removable nib, therefore if the nib is too broad or you lend your pen to someone and they damage the nib, all you need to do is buy a new nib to go on to it, you don't need to buy a new pen!

The Section
The section in my opinion is very nice to hold. However I have heard mixed reviews about this grip. The grip is triangular and made of the same material as the rest of the pen. In my opinion this section is very well  designed. I like it because it forces the correct triangular grip on the pen. Furthermore,it is the perfect size for my hands.

Thanks for reading my review and please leave a comment on what you thought of the review and how I could improve in the future! :D
